Holles Wilbur Allen invented the compound bow in 1967 in his home state of Missouri. This bow uses pulleys and cables that form a leverage system to bend the tips or ends of the arc. The long arc, also known as the recurve bow, has members who are much more flexible than the compound bow. The compound bow stores more energy that most of the arches, but that results in very stiff limbs. It is practically impossible to draw the bow back with the single string. This issue is resolved with pulleys and cables. A string is attached to a pulley with a cable connected to the opposite limb. The pulley in turn, when the string is pulled. The pulley, in turn, pulls cable, folding legs and voila! ... stored energy ready to send an arrow in flight.
Compound Bow Advantages
One of the advantages of a compound bow is its strong resistance to changes in temperature and atmospheric moisture. As a result, the accuracy and arrow speed and extent travel arrow bow makes this much more effective than standard longbow.
Force compound bow
What gives these arches not only added strength of pulleys and cables, but also constitute the backbone and limbs. The thrust of the compound bow, also known as the elevator, is composed of either magnesium or aluminum materials, both strong but lightweight. As a matter of fact, the top compound bows are made from 6061 and the quality of aircraft aluminum. The reason to use this material is to maintain as inflexible as possible. You want the elevator to be very hard for you can add other pieces of equipment like the bow quivers sights, or stabilizers.
The limbs are a mixture of alloy and are built for strength. They must be able to withstand the high tensile strength in the drawing of the chain. They store all the energy generated by the arc.
The cams and chains
Usually at the end of a wheel arch is also called cam. There are many different ways to use the camera to store the energy in terms of arch design. There are also different types of cameras for the energy stored in the limbs. These different types of cam arc is called eccentric. The Binary Cam, Hybrid Cam, Dual Cam Single Cam are the 4 most used, but some prefer the House of awnings and Quad Cam.
Chains and cables are made of polyethylene and should be strong and flexible as they need to stretch when drawing the arc. This moves the arc energy to the arrow when the string is the release that results in maximum distance. The cables, on the other hand, are made of steel surrounded by transparent plastic.
Arrows to the compound bow
The arrows used with the compound bow not vary much from the arrows used by a standard long bow. Arrow shafts are made of carbon or aluminum. However, due to the strength of a compound bow produces the user is more difficult than trying to launch an arrow with a wooden handle, because it probably will be broken by force of this arc. Arrow manufacturers produce arrows of different lengths and stiffness to work with different styles of composite bows. Products of the rigidity of an arrow on the correction of compound bow style greatly increase accuracy.
