Hoyt Bow Hunter

Hoyt Bow Hunter
First time bow hunter, Does it really matter if the bow shoots 270fps. or 305fps?

I am looking for a good bow ready to shoot around $ 400. I like Fred's a Bear but my cousin shoots a Hoyt TurboTec and says speed is everything. I like Fred Bear shoots about 280fps. Is that to slow? What kind of bow is recommended for rifle hunting for 20 years seeking his first bow?

Shot placement is everything, they say, most misses in bow hunting are caused by calculating the distance wrong. You thought it was 30 meters and the speed was 38 and so allows a flatter trajectory, giving more room for error. I have seen a number of deer on the arrow to go too. They jump between the moment the arrow leaves the bow and arrow of time come to them. Faster arc equals less time in flight. There is nothing wrong with a slower bow is a little harder. It takes practice a bit more with its estimate range and make sure your goal is not is alert to appear when the arrow is released (you should do anyway with a bow faster). Personally, if I was a deer, he had to worry more for a guy with a 270 fps bow that had practiced a lot about what would be a guy who shot his 350 fps bow a dozen times a year.
